Network drives access (reconnect failure)
« on: October 18, 2006, 12:21:26 pm »

I have a small but frustrating problem that is related to the Linksys Speedbooster WiFI card on my laptop. I use this laptop to access remote drives, the problem is due to linksys' wonderful software: when I come out of hibernation or reboot the PC, it always tries to re-establish the networked/mapped drives prior to the Wifi connection being complete. Then I have to manually re-establish the connection by exploring each drive. Inevitably I (or my wife) ends up erasing the network files. Since I 'd like to always fix broken links including networked files, as this is all I am using on this pc, I need to either figure out how to tell the laptop to try to reconnect after the WiFi or find out if MC can do this.

Right now MC doesn't seem able to access the mapped drives even though they are "available". Could it be a simple fix to have MC mimic a manual explore of network drives. If anoyone has a similar issues & a fix outside of MC I am all ears.
