Need Help Tweaking Full Screen Visualizations
« on: September 06, 2002, 05:31:08 pm »

Hopefully someone has a similar setup and has already worked out the best settings for this.

I'm trying to get the best speed and quality from the Full Screen Visualizations.  Currently they run more slowly than when windowed and skip a bit when changing routines.  My goal is to run them on a large format TV.  Right now they are too anoying.

Current Hardware:
P4 2 GHz
384 MB RAM
nVida GeForce4 TI4200 (Core=316 MHz, Memory=645 MHz), Direct 3D=Enable Fog Table Emulation |PLS| Mipmap=High Performance
DirectX = 8.1
OS=WinXP Home

Current MJ Setup:
MJ 8.0.365
Sound Output = Wave Out, 16 bit
Performance = 1/4 in from Left (Closer to More Skip Resistant)
Full Screen Visualizations = DirectX, 800x600x32 @ High Quality

Thanks,
David

Try a search on google for nvidia drivers.  There have been some problems reported.

JimH,

I did my homework before posting and previously did a search on Google to come up with the current TI4200 clock settings.  In addition I am using the new nVida 40.41 drivers  (Release Date: August 29, 2002) which claim a 25% increase in performance.

PS: I don't get the visual skipping or "hiccup" effect in games or in WinAmp.  Audio does not skip and is perfect.

Thanks,
David
