Disabled v2 Tagging, Error Message
« on: September 05, 2002, 06:14:35 pm »

IS there anyway to stop MJ from displaying that message that says "could not update tag information" that pops up everytime i update tag info with ID3v2 tagging disabled? Its very, super, astronomically annoying. Any solution?

Jared,

I think this because v1 tags do not handle the same types of info as v2 tags. Read -> # of charactors in the tag. Someone correct me if I'm wrong here.

This also happens with wav files. No tags, but MJ will update the database anyway. It is just telling you that the tag info has not been updated. Agreed, it is annoying and should have the option of "Do Not Show Me This Message Again" type checkbox.

You shouldn't be getting this message.  If you're using V9 and WMA that should have been fixed.

Oh, Jim you mist have thought i meant i was using v9, i had it on here and yes that problem was fixed, i forgot about that. I need to pay more attention to what i say sometimes. Im using v8 right now just because v9 is so early in development right now. And you said if i was using WMA, does that mean that the error message still pops up for mp3's
