Double click, MJ starts, no music??
« on: May 27, 2003, 03:59:39 pm »

I like MJ a lot; have been using it for over a year now.  Recently, something has gotten messed up.  When I doubleclick an MP3 file, MJ will start, but then it doesn't play the MP3 I just doubleclicked, which it always did in the past.  If I RIGHT click the MP3, I can then tell it to play on MJ, and it will do so.  I can also play the MP3 through MJ, but going through the MJ Library.  But why this change?  Anyone have any suggestions how I can switch it back to the way it always was?  Thanks!!

'Fallin' In Love' Charted At 01 In 1975

Listening to: 'Fallin' In Love' from 'The Best Of Hamilton Joe Frank And Reynolds' by 'Hamilton Joe Frank And Reynolds' on Media Center 9.0

Artist: HAMILTON JOE FRANK AND REYNOLDS

Hamilton, Joe Frank and Reynolds hold a special place in the annals of rock
and not just for their oldies station perennial "Don't Pull Your Love (Out)."
Imagine if Graham Nash left Crosby, Stills and Nash yet the band didn't bother
to change their name. That's exactly what happened here.Dan Hamilton, Joe
Frank Carollo, and Tommy Reynolds played together in a variety of Los Angeles
groups, scoring a hit as part of the T-Bones, a studio group whose "No Matter
What Shape Your Stomach's In" was based on a popular Alka Seltzer jingle.
Inspired by the summery AM radio pop of Three Dog Night, the trio formed the
extremely similar Hamilton, Joe Frank and Reynolds in 1970, signed with
Dunhill Records and immediately scored a Top Five hit with "Don't Pull Your
Love (Out)." None of the follow-up singles had any success, and Tommy Reynolds
left the group in 1973. In an act of cynicism unparalleled in rock & roll,
either Hamilton and Carollo or (more likely) Dunhill drafted singer Joe
Carrero to take Reynolds' place, yet didn't change the name of the band! The
assumption must have been that it was foolish to risk what little name
recognition the floundering group already had. It worked, because the
refurbished trio hit number one with 1975's "Fallin' In Love" before
disappearing for good. Dan Hamilton died of a stroke in December 1994. --

The setting can change behavior only of double-click in MJ. It doesn't change behavior of double-click in Explorer.

It's strange that if I right-click the file and choose play from the context menu then MJ starts and plays the file. But double-click only starts MJ, but doesn't play the file and doesn't add the file to the playlist.
How can MJ distinguish between right-click and double-click ? In both cases MJ is started with the same parameters. Does MJ use some advanced or undocumented Windows API  ?
