MC12 and FireFox
« on: October 04, 2006, 02:24:07 pm »

Hello, If I have FF open and I close MC, I get a C++ Runtime error in FF and it exits.

I get this with 2 different computers, Anyone else see this?

From the start of the MC 12 beta, I have seen increased crashes in FF that would bring a BSOD.  Nothing in MC seems to prompt this, it seems more like a java thing in FF.

On the other hand, MC12 for me has been more or less rock-solid stability-wise, while FF has been problematic.

I have no problems with anything, Other then this.

Everytime I close MC, if FF is running it crashes.
I was just thinking maybe someone else has seen this... Guess I'll just stick with ie6 or 7.... Atleast it doesn't crash...

I do not have this issue on multiple machines with Firefox 1.5+ and 2.0 installed.  I run them concurrently constantly.

Any extensions in Firefox?  What version is it?  And have you tried a full uninstall and reinstall without restoring the profile?

You certainly should not see a BSOD from anything Firefox does, ever.  If you are, you likely have a hardware issue (probably bad RAM or a motherboard issue).

I don't see this problem here.

Reading about it made me think "Foxytunes"

I don't use that extension, do you?

That was it.... Uninstalled FoxyTunes and no more crashes.

Thanks!

Glynor--

An update on my BSOD's, if I could.  It doesn't appear to be FF doing it at all, but rather a driver conflict between WI-FI (possibly) and my Cellular data card.  Something is disabling the PCI USB host controller relate to the cell card.

Tangentally, has anyone made a way for FoxyTunes on other machines work with an MC server?  Or if not FoxyTunes some other sort of plug-in for Firefox that would control an MC zone?
