YADB improvement
« on: September 04, 2002, 07:17:42 am »

I just made a pretty significant fix to YADB. If you have a CD that it couldn't find but you expected to be there (like "Abbey Road" by "The Beatles"), give it another try.

Zevele - I was unable to reproduce your hanging problem. I tried about 45 CDs last night, and all went fine and fast.

YADB does not even try to connect when this problem happens
Can be a mess with ADSL-PPPOe,the worst connection you can get

Open a new one, like it you will see it.
Still the same problem. But now allmost from the start. Not after 10 or 20 cds.
All the problem is exatly the same than in the other post.
It happens often enougth to call it a real nuisance.

WindowsME
IE6
MJ 359
ADSL-PPPOe connection
no firewall installed.

Computer tested with all McAffee Utilities:0 problem-0 potential problem

Beside it looks like MJ works fine .Only the color problem back.In 'no mega-skin-Windows look.i still get from 'file' to 'help' white. This problem back with one of the MJ 8 built.Cannot say which one,but a built from after last week-end of July.

I can say that people using Freecd have the same tastes than me.I was really surprised to not have to upload bands like Speed the Plougth,Dharma Bums,Shady,Wake Ooloo.
I am sure you got it from the data you imported, not from an MJ user

Did you see my post about how to upload to YADB the easy way?
Check with YADB,if no result set to cdbb.
If you get results, set back to YADB and send infos.

Do you know if it works?
Do you have a way to check if it works ?

I can give you few cds i uploaded today if you want.

Now you may ask your nice friends at JRiver and your psy-trance BOOS
to put an 'eject cd'option in the window when rigth clicking on cd in the tree.Cause i may get a right arm longer than the left in few weeks.....

Listening to The Last Drive 'underworld shakedown' MONSTER psy\garage from Greece.

On my turnable.

Because you can Yahoo! and play cds in MJ
But you cannot YADB! and play your cds in MJ

double entries
Ron Sexsmith/Other Songs ..     and

Ron Sexsmith/Other Songs

I know, they are the same. One can be a special pressing with bonus songs. But we cannot -yet- see it with YADB

A spelling mistake

Tractor's Revenge  - Eror Of The Moon.

Uploaded after getting infos from cdbb and saw there is Eror and not Error

It does sound like the ADSL connection - what other problems are you having with it (the connection)?

Yes, it works. It is easy to check: after you send the info, just right click and update the info again to see if you get it back.

> Duplicates/Spelling Error

I fixed the spelling error, but don't worry about reporting these. There will be a way for you to correct them soon.

Not yet, if you could I would appreciate it.
Have a happy new year.

After I posted the previous message, I did have one hang here at work. It happened when I put the CD in the drive and right clicked on the icon before it was done reading the tracks - I didn't wait for the tracks to appear on the right side of the screen. Does this sound like what you are doing?

No the problem happens when just putting the cd and not doing anything.

I'am doing tests now,but i do not remember one thing:
Where all the infos you get from Yabb or cdbb are on the computer.

Matt told me few months ago,but i do not remember.
What i want to do is to delete all the infos and start again to put the cds and have YADB connecting to the weeb.

I did 50 cds with MJ original look[i mean the blue one]==100% ok

I want to start again with  'Disable skin',the 'look 'of MJ i have all the time=the Windows look. For me based on 'Baseball 'desktop scheme'.With this one i have the 'no color 'problem.
I really would like to see if i get 50 cds without the problem

In Media Jukebox: Media Library -> CD and DVD Media
and delete the discs there.

Then remove cdplayer.ini in the windows system directory.

That should do it.

I'm curious who "owns" the data in YaDB and what restrictions there are on YaDB's use?
