Real media files only play through zone 2

I hope someone can help!

When I play real media streams (.ram or .smil) these are only ever output through my second sound card attached to zone 2 wherever I start playing the stream.  ie if I start it in zone1 or zone 2 it always comes out through zone 2.

Any ideas?
