Logitech Wireless Music System for iPod
« on: December 17, 2006, 10:04:23 am »

I saw this mentioned a year ago in the forum but nothing was said about it. I can use it with my iPod but I'm thinking I can also just plug it into my laptop too to play directly from MC. Does anybody have this and does it work well?

No replies but since I can get it after rebates for a mere total of $6.99, I took a chance and ordered one.

Just got this hooked up and I'm very pleased. It works great with my iPod and even plugs into my laptop so I can play MC through my stereo now. Not bad for $6.99 after rebate! I guess I got one of the last ones because I got it from buy.com and it is now listed there as unavailable from the manufacturer.

For $6.99 you can't go wrong.  The only thing I've heard, which is not specific to the unit you purchased, is that wireless can result in problems with interference.  Examples given was planes flying overhead, microwave ovens, etc.   If you are not having these problems, great.

It's bluetooth so at least too much shouldn't interfere with it.

I've been looking for something like this,
is the audio quality OK at around 5 meters?
I want my housemates to be able to plug something
into their laptops to allow them to play audio through my hifi, without
being connected... this sounds ideal.
I was also looking at a Sindogo Scirocco  but they're not
compatible with MACs yet, and I'm not sure our
wireless network is strong enough down stairs.

Farthest I have used it is about 10 feet. It claims to be good up to 33 feet. You'll have to do your own conversions.  :)  I think the audio quality is decent, at least good enough for me. It will be nice playing MC through the stereo now.

It looks ideal.  But $6.99 that's a steal!
Over here they want between £60 and £80 or around $120 of your money!

Bought one of these in the end, seems good =)
Don't think it's audiophile quality, but still more than listenable too.

Distance it will work from is incredible too, considering it's bluetooth.
It seems to do better than our Wifi network!

It's a shame it can't connect to my phone's bluetooth however.

After a week one thing which does seem to be an issue is the battery life.
It seems that when you're not using it needs to be charging else the next
time you use it, it's flat.
