OT - Home, where my musics playing...
« on: December 21, 2006, 03:56:34 pm »

I'm homeward bound tomorrow morning for a week or so, to visit the family near where the "tide turned" in the US Civil War...

So... First off --  Everyone have a wonderful time, whether you celebrate anything at all or not.  Also... Is anyone going anywhere cool or doing anything exciting for the end of the year?

We're fairly sure there's not going to be a new year.
The reason being, New Year Follows Xmas.
And Xmas doesn't start until Coca Cola put the
ad's on with the Trucks, and the "HuHolidays are Coming" music.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2NmmT-PsKKw&mode=related&search=

And it hasn't happened this year.
Kids/Students all across the world are puzzled walking
round in circles shaking their watches, and checking they
didn't fall a sleep for a month.

We've written in several emails into CocaCola,
we think heads should roll for this one.

Anyhow should the unlikely happen and the new year come
without Xmas, a bunch of us are going over to Heathers farm,
where we're gonna light fireworks, and be Merry anyway.  ;)

Mr Chriz, that is so true!!
Who else in the UK has noticed the demise of the never-ending, big-budget Woolies christmas adverts?

I only get two nights off work over Christmas and New Year, (Christmas Eve and Christmas Night) then it's back to work as usual. I wish to god someone would shut the country down for a fortnight, by law!! The only bonus I get out of it is getting the roads all to myself on the way in and out :-|

Merry Christmas everybody :D

Like some companies, mine shuts down for Christmas week and forces us to take vacation time. Seems like they would give us more vacation to compensate, but that's another story.

So glynor, which turning point are you going to?

We just got back from a day of Beijing (Peking) Opera, Wuxi Opera, Suzhou Opera, and various Chinese classical music performances to celebrate Christmas.

Tomorrow we will train it to visit friends for Christmas. Likely our last get together in China. Folks we've known since arriving are leaving in the Summer and so will we.

But our last hurrah here will be a nice one. We all contribute something from our countries' traditions. Roast goose, Christmas pudding, lots of cookies, cake, fudge (little baker me!), fireworks, but mostly time well spent with good friends.

Merry Christmas everyone!
