In my experiance, MC does not multi-task very well.  It is not a machine issue, but MC itself.  If I am watching a video using MC, and doing anything else in MC I get constant lockups/freezes of the video, and it frequently comes back with video/audio out of sync until I pause/play the video.  For example, I am currently watching the latest dl.tv using MC and hooked up my iPod.  The video froze for several seconds while MC 'dealt with' the iPod.  If I launch the video to an external player (like quicktime or windows media player I don't have the same issue.

Are there any thoughts/plans on addressing this at some point, or is it just an inherent problem with the current code base?
