This morning I decided I wanted to swap my Turtle Beach sound
card out of one machine into another.
So turned the machine off, removed the sound card,
started her back up again. No internet connection.
Infact no ethernet connection either.
Windows driver wizard pops up and says new hardware
to install - ethernet controller. However it can't find the drivers
for the hardware, or more to the point fails to aknowledge their existance.
Play around for half an hour, getting no where.
Put sound card back in, and lowe and behold it all works again.
Kind of reminds me of the machine Hex in Terry Pratchets book.
Every time they took the mouse out it stopped working, despite
having no apparent reason for being there.
How long have we had plug and pray for now?!
