MC12 b0129-130 broke theatre view
« on: December 14, 2006, 10:00:21 pm »

When I try to go to theatre view now I get:

"error starting Direct3D engine
(error finding compatible stencil buffer format)"

Could this have resulted from importing my MC11 library?

Take a look at the thread here http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=36880.msg257295#msg257295

I may be wrong, but perhaps your hardware doesn't meet the new system requirements of Theater View in MC12 either...

You may very well be correct. I wasn't aware of the new 3D stuff. Sigh.

For what it's worth, I get a the following error after switching back forth to a playinh video in theater view:

Error starting Direct3D Engine
Error creating Direct3D Device (0x8876017C).

This is on a Compaq N410C laptop with an ATI Radeon Mobility 16 MB video card.  I believe that error code corresponds to an out of memory condition.
