BUG? ... DSP Output format ...
« on: January 02, 2007, 02:29:52 am »

Hi,

I often use the output format resampling to provide multi-channel upmixing (so 5.1 with either cloned or JRSS processing). Normally everything is fine, however I have noticed on mono files I get a failure saying...

Quote
Blah Blah Blah
Blah Blah Blah
Play back could not be started on the output "Direct Sound" using the format 44100 Hz, 16 Bits per sample, 6 Channels
Your hardware blah blah blah
Blah Blah Blah
Blah Blah Blah

The same settings work fine with stereo mp3's etc...

Am I doing something wrong or is it a bug?

Edit: v12.0.130

Currently mono can't be converted to 5.1, but we can add this to a coming build.

Thanks Matt, mono support would be good, just so that it doesnt produce errors when I decide to play a mono file. After all, mono ->6 channels isnt really necessry, but the errors are annoying.

Hope you had a good New Year!

This will be in build 140 and later -- hopefully available here in a few days.
