Problem - MC not deleting "delete on sync" files
« on: January 05, 2007, 03:15:07 pm »

MC is not deleting files during synchronization labeled "delete on sync".  After syncronization, they are still on the device itself, though they no longer show up in the list of files on the device in MC.  If I then hit "recheck sync", they show up again.

Addendum:  I also just noticed that if I go in and manually delete the files from the device, they stop showing up in MC, but it still (incorrectly) takes their size into account when calculating whether everything will fit.  If I detach and reattach the device, this inaccuracy is resolved.

Any help?  This problem still occurs with a freshly-reset device and MC 12.0.147.

Does anybody have any ideas about how to fix this?

What's the exact device you're using?

Thanks.

I'm using the Sprint PPC-6700, and syncing to a storage card in the device.  I can delete files fine using the phone interface itself.

Is putting the storage card in a card reader an option?  This might side-step all three of your running problems. (delete, renaming device, playlist paths)

We'll also do some testing on our side with a few WM5 devices to see if we can reproduce any of the issues.

Thanks.

It looks like some WM5 devices return a silly file size after upload.

So we upload a file, ask it the size, it says "yes, I gave you the size", but it actually gave us a 0.

We'll handle this in build 151 and later.  Please test when you get a chance and let us know if things improve.

Definitely - I'll check it out as soon as it appears in the forum.  Unfortunately I don't think I can use a card reader, mostly because I need to sync DRMed files and have a bunch of programs running off the storage card.

Thanks.

Works great now - thanks very much.  It's very nice to be able to communicate issues on this forum.
Also, the playlist thing is working great now as well.

One small bug I just noticed, though.  If you delete files on the WM device while it's connected to the computer (to make space for  more stuff) and then click recheck sync, it doesn't recognize the new available space in its calculations.  You have to reconnect it for it to work.  It's not much of a problem, though.
