Ripping in "Digital Secure Mode"
« on: June 01, 2003, 02:42:08 pm »

Hello,

I recently downloaded the trial of Media Jukebox 8 and tried ripping my frirst CD with it.  I used "digital secure" mode and had a problem with a "pop" or "drop-out" on one of the tracks when I check the .wav files.  What are the differences in the options for ripping?  I also notice that next to the choices there was a "settings" button, but it was "grey-ed" out, what is this for?? Can it be used in the full version of MJ??  I tried ripping the say cd with EAC (Exact Audio Copy) in it's "digital secure" mode and it worked fine.  Also...I am kinda of confused about what the quality ratings in the log measure.

Thinking about getting the full version of MJ or MC and would like to use the ripping features, but not sure how well it will stack up against EAC.

Thanks...so much,

crimsonelric.... :)

I forget but it may be for if you have ASPI installed or the type of drive.

when you are in trial mode you have full access to all options if your system is compatable due to OS and drive types etc....

MC9 has a better burner and rips faster

I don't use it

 Hey, shdbcamping,

It can be setup to use about any kind of external encoder.  Most people I think use the LAME encoder, for MP3 encodes.

I just had some troble ripping with MJ 8, which put some drop outs/"pops" in a few places.  Using MC 9 now, and I'll see how it goes.  But, EAC in Digital Secure mode is slower, but seems to be "rock solid" in terms of ripping.
