RUNDLL32 error since installing MJ
« on: August 31, 2002, 04:00:13 am »

As a recent convert to MJ, I love it.  However, since installing it, I frequently get an error message that starts: RUNDLL32 caused a divide error in module IVIAUDIO.AX at 018f:1d1d55d9.  I am not POSITIVE that MJ is the culpret but it is the most likely suspect.  Any ideas what's going on and how to solve.  Thanks.

I did a search on my system for that file and did not find it.

maybe if you find it, what folder is it in?

if you right click on it and bring up properties does it tell you who made it?

Try updating Windows.  Run IE do Tools/Windows Update.

KingSparta, a Find RUNDLL32.* found C:\WINDOWS\RUNDLL32.EXE and C:\WINDOWS\APPLOG\RUNDLL32.LGC, they were Microsoft files.

JimH, good idea.  I'll try that and let you know result.

Thank you, both.  Ernie -

It is a Windows file.

Garbage in, garbage out.

Don't know if it can help : IVIAUDIO.AX is a WinDVD file.

Maybe you can solve the problem by un-install/re-install your WinDVD player.

Yves.

Yves, your suggestion makes sense.  Whether the Windows update solved the problem or "it just went away," it hasn't happened again.  If it recurs, I'll try your solution.  Thanks.
