Podcasts: keep downloaded filenames
« on: November 04, 2006, 05:01:01 pm »

Hello everybody,

It seem to be impossible to keep "as is" the name of downloaded files?

I've tried to leave "filename" field in "podcast tag and file renaming rules" from empty but it revert to <default>

A partial workaround is using the expression:
FileName([Episode URL])

but the consequence is that the extension becomes ".mp3.mp3" (doubled)

Any better solution?

It is annoying that JRiver by default wants to replace all of the author's tags with their own, but they seem unwilling to change that.

I am pretty sure that [name] will leave the file name alone.

I am pretty sure that [name] will leave the file name alone.

I had tried this also, but it not the solution: this uses the title of the feed episode (the <title>  tag of the corresponding item in the feed) as file name.

More generally a good solution from jriver would be, besides the <default> option, to accept something like an <as_is> or <no_change> option for every podcast tag.
