Apologies if this has been covered....but
In my old version of 11.0 under Options/General/Playbutton there was an option for Play Visible files (selected).
This doesn't appear to be available in the latest version of 11.1, either that or I'm not looking in the right place!

I use this option all the time in conjunction with my radio program as I want to be able to press the play button and only play the selected files and then stop automatically.

Is there a way of doing this in 11.1.201 ? or do I have to go back to my old version 11.0.316?

In Options>General>Behavior. Click on Playbutton and you will have 2 choices: Play Visible Files or Play Playing Now.

Thank you. I am aware that there are two options there. My point was that  Play Visible files (selected).....

....is no longer an option for the play button behaviour.

I am also aware that I can right click on the file in the playlist. Which will play the selected file/s only.  Just that it's a pretty clumsy way of doing it when you're doing it a lot and running a live program and mixing at the same time.  In the old version all I had to do was highlight the file and play with the main play button on the toolbar.
I wonder why was this option dropped?

I have never missed that option. Actually, I don't even recall MC11.0 having it, but I trust your word.

My Play button has always been configured to play "Playing Now" so that my browsing location is independent of the Play button functionality. I use the "Right-Click > Send To > Play..." functions for adding the selected files to Playing Now (in the several available ways).

In general, you are a bit late. MC11.1 has been finished for a long time and many of us have not had MC11.0 installed over a year. You should try MC12.0 and post this as a feature request in the MC12.0 thread.

It seems i can either right click and play, or drag file/s to the play button and then play. I'll probably do the latter as it works quite well.

no doubt I'll be asking questions about MC12 when you've all been on MC13 for a year or so!

Not the case! We're still doing MC12 beta, but it's virtually as stable as 11, but has a lotof new features and improvements, try it, I think you'll like it.

I guess all I need to know , at this stage, is whether MC12 allows you the option to play highlighted files from the play button?

MC 12 has the tool option to set the play button behavior to either play visible files or playing now.

You can right click and choose play on a highlighted file(s).
