DSP Studio for movies?
« on: February 11, 2007, 11:18:04 am »

Hi!

I noticed long time ago that it is impossible to use Dsp Studio for movies. But is it possible to use it anyway? Because there are many plugins like dfx which make the sound of xvid divxs etc much better. Is it possible to "unlock" dsp studio for movies also

Thx in advance

You can enhance video soundtracks with DirectShow filters. For example, the FFDShow codec & filter pack/control program has several nice audio filters and here I posted info about probably the best graphic DirectShow EQ: http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=30561.msg216091#msg216091

Audio in a movie is rendered by DirectShow, different from pure audio. The only way to offer such support is to write another DirectShow filter, which is not trivial and not needed (as there is already FFDShow).
