MC 12 is not updating the tags on my IPOD

I can edit the tags from files which are stored on my IPOD. Everything seems ok until I hook up my IPOD again. Then I notice that no changes in the tags were saved. Am I doing anything wrong?
I'm using Windows Vista Home Premium and no additional drivers are loaded for my IPOD.
