ok. you make a playlist. you drag whole folder from youR WINDOWS music folder (rock) to the rock playlist. then you drag 80's rock from WINDOWS music folder to 80's playlist, then you drag classic rock from WINDOWS music folder to classic rock playlist. they all work flawlessly thumbs show. works great
now you want to make a playlist that's called cool rock mix(which will have your favorite songs from those 3 playlists (just your favorite songs) you drag and drop them from the 3 PLAYLISTS
NOT the windows music folder.
And they all show up with thumbnails as they should.
You do a library backup. to save it.
Now when i restored\reformated my computer a couple weeks ago. all my playlists showed up, EVEN the cool rock one. but in the cool rock one ALL the thumbnails were missing.
So i tried rebuilding them but it only made one thumbnail(same thumbnail) for all music files. which there were hundreds of artists with diffrent thumbs. so i had to delete my custom cool rock mix playlist and remake it then redrag all my favorite songs from the 3 playlists(rock, 80's, classic rock) so as to get my thumbnails back.
so what i'm trying to say is. for some reason if you make a playlist and drag the files from WINDOWS folders into the correct playlist it will save flawlessly, but if you make a playlist within media center by dragin and dropping from another playlist into the new playlist desired. the thumbs wont save in case of a reformat then a library restore.
At least didnt for me. and that was alot of work(custom mix playlist that was lost)
that make more sense?
sorry for the confussion.
