Problem with .ogg tags.
« on: August 28, 2002, 07:41:02 pm »

I discovered that other taggers are putting comments in a tag field labeled "COMMENT=" while MJ is using the label "DESCRIPTION=".  This makes MJ incompatible with other taggers for ogg tags, as concerning the comment field - they can't read or write each other's comments.

Is there a standard somewhere?  Can't we all just get along?

I also noticed this when using WinVorbis v1.36 to compress and tag OGGs.

OK, I'm going to BUMP this until I see a response from someone on the staff at JRiver.

FYI - Ogg Vorbis I format specification: comment field and header specification:

http://xiph.org/ogg/vorbis/doc/v-comment.html

From those specs:
"DESCRIPTION
A short text description of the contents"
