Which option is checked on the Tools/Options/Advanced ISO options dialog?
Also, can you confirm that it's not a problem with the cd-rom driver software, by checking that you can view long filenames on other discs with this drive? Could you paste your system info here (from MC's Help/System info menu option).
Long Filenames are no problem with DVDs burnt with NERO

Advanced ISO & Joliet Options: ISO Version 2 Long (212 char.filenames) is chosen (but doesn't work with other options, too)
CD/DVD Folder Naming: Artist/Album is chosen
