Turn off Visuals
« on: August 28, 2002, 01:25:22 am »

For some reason I cannot select NONE under the sub menu for visuals. When ever i have a track playing I get visuals which slow the system down. I try to select NONE but it will not 'take'

Is the any other way to force visuals OFF.

Thanks.

Explore the options when you right click on the display.

That's weird.

If right-click doesn't work, set

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\JRiver\Music Exchange\1.0\Media Jukebox\Plugins\Display\Active Plugin (0) to None with regedit.

Let us know...

My first instinct when I hear something like this is that maybe, if the system is unresponsive enough when you start playback, is it possible that you're clicking too many times, expecting something to happen, and that MJ is queueing up those clicks and then finally clicking past the point you want to be?

Does that make any sense?

If you click just once on the left or right arrows during playback and then wait, does it switch and stay switched?

Alternatively, what happens if you try to select Track Info?

The version of MJ might also make a difference.

Version is 8.0.348

To: Jim 'Explore the options when you right click on the display.'

I am trying to do that - I see NONE but I can't click it and make it take. I just ignores me.

I am not clicking too many times. NO it does not switch *that's* the problem.

I'll have to use Matt's REG hack.

Should be an option to turn this off without having a track playing though.

I ran into this issue when I first got MJ. Extremely slow (more than a minute) popup time, unable to select None. Eventually I found the reg key and set it.

It would be helpful if this were somewhere in Settings, ie. accessible outside of the Visualizations window. Could reduce future cursing
