Restricting files to show by location
« on: March 17, 2007, 01:30:40 am »

Hello All,

I'm sure this is a simple one but I have not been able to figure it out yet. Much appreciate a quick pointer.

I have a custom view scheme based on location. This shows all of the directories at that location which is great and exactly what I want. But it also shows "Unassigned" with all library files that are not at at the preset location.

I have tried to find a way to get rid of the "Unassigned" by using the "Pick Files to Show" option but there does not seem to be a field for Location (Filename (path)) for some reason. Also, is there also a way to get rid of the "All" folder that gets generated automatically?

I am using MC 11, had some stability problems with MC 12 and switched back.

Thanks for looking at this. Any help greatly appreciated.

oooh, you were sooo close...

Although [filename (path)] is not in the 'more fields' list, there's nothing to stop you typing it into step 4 manually.
You need to make the path match the one you set as the starting point for your location pane. [filename (path)]=insert path here

If there are spaces in the path, wrap the entire path in double quotes and it should work then. No more unassigned.

Currently, there is no way to get rid of the "All" item in the panes.
