Views in Tree in Theatre View
« on: April 01, 2007, 12:21:13 pm »

When I right click on a view in the tree, there's an option "Show in Theatre View"
I thought I'd used this previously to get a view in the main menu of the theatre
view only now it doesn't seem to work....

Any ideas?
Cheers
Chris.

I've never known this to work. Though what a great idea! I'd love to be able to add specific views to the main menu.

The only way to control what pre-defined options are shown on the main menu are via the "Items to show" settings in the Theater View options.... but you probably already knew that.

Cheers.

This feature controls whether the view is visible in the appropriate sub-menu (i.e. Audio, Images or Video) in Theatre View. In this respect, it works.

Ah ok.
I think the problem lies with the fact that my view is on the top level.
I think therefore it should go on the top level of theatre view however.

Hi,

How do you start a new topic in this forum?  I can only find a way to reply to a current topic.

Thanks,
Brian

See what you mean, I agree that would make sense. So you're saying they don't show up anywhere in Theatre View, even though you've checked it?

Correct.  I'm sure this worked once upon a time.

I don't know that you could ever add a top-level item to Theater View.  Either way, that's what it is.  This option (I too always use the one inside the Edit View Scheme dialog -- though I'd guess they're the same), only works for views that are children of one of the main Audio/Video/Images top level schemes.

Yes but it shouldnt. As long as there is always at one viewscheme that is ticked to show in theater view, then there is no need at all for the main audio one to show. I think that the top-most ticked viewscheme should be the one that shows as default, with other ticked ones appearing as they do currently (although change the icon. It should be a musical note rather than a folder icon).

JRiver could the root level stuff be implemented?
Being able to have my TV-Series view at root level in Theatre View would be really useful.

I fifth it. But a little less loud than confishy. Not only view scheme though. A more thorough way of costumizing the menu would be a nice thing. - In this case it would be best to leave the most of it away from the theater view offcourse.

Count me in.
I need it 'cause I'm trying to get rid of the default Audio/Video/Images top level schemes in Standard View and I'd like to be able to do exactly the same in Theater View
