ABC Nightline Podcast MOV vs. MP4 Issue

The ABC Nightline Video Podcast shows up as a MOV file for some reason in MC.  The files are actually MP4 files (M4V Apple calls them) encoded for Apple devices.  Quicktime (and MC) refuses to play them if they are called MOV, but if I manually change them to MP4 it works fine (both in Quicktime, MPC, and MC).
