G-Force Freezes MC for 15+ Seconds When Stopping a Song
« on: May 27, 2007, 11:04:11 pm »

I just started using G-force Platinum again with the very latest version and noticed this problem.  Has anyone else seen this?

A full unisntall and re-install fixed it, for now!

Full uninstall of G-Force or MC?

Apparently a windows reboot screws it back up.  :-\

I think G-Force may have some problems.  I also see a delay in MC when I try to change the Display (Set Display option in MC). When I try to change this option after opening MC, MC freezes for about 30 seconds. After the first change, I can make more changes to the Set Display option and there is no performance problem. If I close MC, open MC, and try it again, the problem comes back.

So fidgeting around some more, it seems that after an uninstall/re-install, g-force works flawlessly on the first startup of MC.  After I close MC and re-start, is when the delays start happening.  It's simply that MC just becomes unresponsive after a songs stops playing, no cpu spikes or anything.

Testing with Windows Media player, and the issue does not occur.

I am also noticing a slight stutter for the first few seconds on startup.

So tracking this down some more, it appears that a reboot of the PC with g-force set as the default display for MC causes the issue to occur.  Only re-install of g-force or a reboot of the pc WITHOUT g-force set to the default display option in MC FIXES the issue.

Hopefully either JRiver or soundspectrum figure this one out, as it is ultra annoying.
