Duplicate Tracks Noobie Help Please
« on: July 03, 2007, 08:00:53 am »

I recently moved my music file to a larger disk.  I used the file import hoping to sync media 12 with the new location.  Now I have duplicate tracks.

How do I get rid of the duplicate tracks in my library?

Thanks for your help;)

It depends a bit. Do you wish to keep properties not stored in the tag on the file (like play count, last played etc.)?

- go to audio view (or one you got that shows ALL your audio files)
- sort by filename (the column out on the right side by default)
- select the first file of the old location, hold down shift and press page down untill all files in the old location is selected.
- press delete on your keyboard:
   - If you still would like to keep the old files on the drive, select "remove from library" (first choice).
   - If you would like to delete them from disk, select "remove from library and delete to recycle bin" (second choice).
