Missing Available HDD Space under Vista [Solved]
« on: October 03, 2007, 10:22:54 pm »

FYI - my HTPC seemed to be losing available space at a more constant rate than what I was putting media onto.  I seemed to be missing around 60GB on a 500GB HDD by the time I ran out of space.  Even with Show Hidden and System files on Explorer was showing the C: Drive was full yet if I selected all items on the C: Drive I should have 60GB free.

To cut a long story short it was all the restore points eating up the disk space that Explorer was not reporting.  For those that want to reclaim your disk space you can delete all the old restore points by, in Explorer, selecting C: --> right click properties --> disk cleanup --> files from all users on this computer --> more options.
