Hello,

I'm really frustrated with MJ8 CD burning!  I've followed all the "CD Burning Tips" as best I know how, installed new ASPI, upgraded MJ8 to latest version, tried both drive specific (my drive is supported) and generic drivers and reduced the burning speed in increments all the way down to 1X.  I've been trying it in test mode (so I don't ruin all my cd-r's) and the strange thing is that it won't even make it to the burning part.  About halfway through the file preparation (when I'm assuming it's converting the format to cda or wav) I get the error message "media jukebox has encountered errors.  an error log is being created" then it closes itself.  I've yet to be able to find the error log.  If anyone can help I would really appreciate it!!!  Thanks in advance.  System information from MJ appears below:

Never heard of a PIII 71 Mhz Computer.

You Could Try Installing ASPI Under The Tab, Above "Help" Burning Tips.

There Is A Link To ASPI, You Will Need To Unzip It. Go To The Folder It Unziped To And Run The Install Program. Then To Make Sure You Need To Run The ASPICheck Program.

When I Used MJ8 I Never Had Much Luck With The Internal ASPI

Thanks for that info.  Actually, I already tried that.  Still doesn't work.  I know you mentioned "when you used MJ8..." past tense.  Does this mean that Media Center 9 works better?  I might go ahead and try the 30 day trial if it actually works.  I'd appreciate knowing your luck on it!  Thanks again.

well since MJ8 JohnT has Worked Hard On The Burner, And For The Most Part It Took Care Of Most Users Burrning Problems.

I Would not look for any enhancements to MJ8.

Well Varaonaid, I'm having the same problems. I'm able to burn CD's with MJ but cannot turn off the 2 sec gap.
Installed ASPI, uninstalled ASPI, formatted PC and reinstalled XP, installed ASPI, every latest driver I could find, read all the threads about CD burning but still not working. Must be something odd in our systems.

....And yes I tried MC but unfortunately the same problem! Other burning programs work fine - Nero, MyMp3.

I had the same problem. what i ended up doing is installing the burning program that came with the cdrw drive. i burned a cd with the loaded program, then MJ8 worked for burning... so i now i use mj8 'cause it's easier.
