Ripping songs from CD's back into the Media Jukebox program
« on: October 10, 2007, 12:47:02 am »

I posed a question to a problem I have and there doesn't seem to be anyone from Media Jukebox that has made any attempt to give me an answer. Isn't anyone from Media Jukebox going to try to help me??? Surely this isn't the first time a problem like this has occurred. I had the problem while ripping music from CD's back into the Media Jukebox and out of 22 disks, I had about 8 that gave me an error message and the last song of the CD was not ripped back to the playlist.

Is it possible there's a problem with you're CD Drive?
If the drive is having a problem reading the disks
the laser maybe on it's way out.  Cheaper/Older drives
do often have this problem.

The software maybe unrelated but have you tried Media Center,
it's much more modern and reliable than Media Jukebox, and support tends
to be better as more people are using it now.

Thanks for your input, but I'm pretty sure that it's not the CD drive. I was hoping that an "expert" from this website would know exactly the problem, but I guess not. My computer isn't that old and if there was a problem, why wouldn't it do it with every disk I copied back to the program? I like Media Jukebox and I'm familiar with it and don't really want to change. I'm not a young person and once I learn how to use a product and it works great for me, I tend to stick with it. It was working just fine and doing everything I needed.

I thought you answered your own question in that thread

Quote
My mistake...duh...........the disks I used to copy onto are 700MB, not 600MB.

Media Jukebox is not being updated, the new product is Media Center, that has improvements in handling CD\DVD drives.

At some point there maybe some drives that may not work with Media Jukebox correctly.

there could also be issues with The CD's or DVD's and the drive it's self.

you should try Media Center to see if it works correctly, if it does there maybe a issue with media jukebox and your drive. If it does not work then there maybe a issue with your drive and or media.

What ever the case don't look for any improvements or fixes in Media Jukebox.
