Q: Watch TV by using a service (like tivo) it workd for audio
« on: September 15, 2007, 08:08:38 pm »

I'm wondering if the following is possible. It works for audio.

PC1 TV-card can watch TV properly
PC2 no TV-card ,but want to watch the show on PC at the moment it's broadcasted.

Like Tivo or the library server.

Is this possible while we do not want to buy a TV-card for every PC (5) We are with 6 kids at home.

Hi there. The JR guys are working on this functionality right now. I don't know when it will be formally available as it's currently in beta but it IS coming so stay tuned!

Thanks.

This may be possible even with the MC12 build that's out now.  Get Library Server running first and make sure you can connect.  Then try pausing TV on the server.  Then try connecting from the client.

Is there a way to view TV streamed from a server?  If so, how could I test this?

That would be very handy.  However, it would have to be able to stream full HD content as it would be from the coaxial cable or it would be inferior.

A server where? A server on your own LAN? Yes. A server somewhere on the Internet? No, not HD content.
