Trap at end of handheld sync

Hi,

I have 3 smartlists which i sync to my TrekStor Vibez handheld. The options are set to:

[ ] Auto-sync
  • Delete from handheld

[ ] Enable artwork
No conversions

All the tracks get copied over fine, but at the end of the last track MC traps and exits. When i look at the handheld, all the tracks are there, but the playlists (generated by the 3 smartlists) are missing - so i'm guessing it is there that the problem arises.

The playlists are all of the form:

Mix: 470,7,{[Genre]=[Pop],[Synth Pop],[Dance] [Rating]=<1},6,{[Genre]=[Pop] [Rating]=>4},10,{[Genre]=[Synth Pop] [Rating]=>4},5,{[Genre]=[Dance] [Rating]=>4}

Remove Duplicates Of: Artist, Name

Sort by: [random]


Is there anything i can do to get around this?

Update:

I made new (simpler) smartlists that i knew would be the same each time.

When i did the sync the first time, exactly the same thing happened - it transferred all the files, but then trapped before uploading the playlists.

When i retried the sync, it took no time at all (as no files needed to be transferred) and the playlists appeared on the device, no trapping.

So both bits work fine independently, but together they cause MC to trap.

Any ideas?

I'm seeing a similar problem with my iPod Video 30 GB. Except that I cannot get it to synch at all. It starts to synch, shows "working" but after running (trying) for a while, MC stops responding and crashes.

Running Vista here.

Could you post the last few hundred lines of the "Previous Log" after MC exits this way?  You can enable logging in Main Menu > Options > Logging.

Got the log. I'll email it t you Matt.

One thing I noticed was that the last file it was trying to process was a picture. I don't know why or how this is happening as I only have music going to the iPod. I did a search of all the playlists and smartlists I synch to the iPod and the picture is not there...  ?

Deleting the picture from the synch list finally allowed the synch to start. :-)
