.m4a files do not play on ipod shuffle
« on: July 05, 2007, 11:17:10 am »

My .m4a files play fine in MC12 but do not play on the ipod (shuffle, the latest type) when transferred onto it with MC12. Is this an "apple prefers itunes"-issue or is there a solution for this? Certain filters that could help with this? Or for example  being able to define which type of files should be recoded for each portable player, instead of the "when necessary" option now available.

Greetings and thanks

Is this unique to the new nano, or does it effect the new classic iPods as well?

Thanks,

I am experiencing the trouble on a new iPod Shuffle (the tiny one with no display).

I'm assuming you are talking about Audiobooks?

If so, you can use bonkenc to encode mp3's into M4a then rename the extensions to m4b

Or try simply renaming the ones that you already have from m4a to m4b
