What is a parameter?
« on: August 15, 2002, 08:20:14 pm »

I've been reading the interact messages and I saw some problems
other people have that are simular to mine. I'm going to go to options
then put the encoders path in. Now I need to know what a parameter is.
         Please help.      thank you

Robert: I attempted to answer this question in your other message thread, like so:
"It's information for the encoder, usually to define the settings of conversion/compression/etc. For instance, if you use LAME to create mp3 files, you might put:
%IN %OUT --alt-preset extreme
...in the parameter line. More info about parameters should be available in the documentation of the encoder."

If you still have questions, please post them as a reply - it helps to keep things neat in the message board.
