I have posted this bug several times, but J River does not seem to care in this case. Maybe I am the only one with this problem, so I would like to ask: Nobody else with this problem?
First, the problem: In Image playback I use quite a long caption line to be displayed in this shiny blue ribbon at the bottom of a slide show. Unfortunately, when the caption line is too long, nothing is being displayed at all. This is a bug for me! Has anybody else seen this?
Second, the dilemma: MC allows to create and handle as many tags as we want and gives us user plenty of flexibility to store metadata about media files. But then, what's the use of storing all this metadata, if we cannot properly use it and display it.
Image playback allows to display only one single caption line of information. For many slide shows (like my fine art collection) this is simply not enough.
I think there should be more options available to display tags (as there is with track info) during a slide show, such as multiple caption lines, but also more flexibility in the presentation of this metadata such as flexibility of fonts, size, colors, position, transparency, duration, framing etc.
Anybody happy with the current situation? I am definitely not.
By the way, in MC11 the caption line adjusted the font size according to its length. This was not a good choice as the font could shrink to such an extent as becoming unreadable.
The possibility of introducing a newline character in the caption line and thus creating multiple caption lines would be a first easy fix, more options for presenting the metadata would definetely enhance image playback.
