Suitable upnp photo frame?

(1/2) > >>

MP101User:
I'm thinking of adding one or two wi-fi photo frames to my network.

I've done a search here, but not found any details so far: anybody have any joy using one of these with JRiver? At the moment I serve content to an MP101 and XBMC, so don't want to mess about buying different frames before getting a few recommendations.

If I din't hear anything, I think I'll stick to a non wi-fi equivalent and just copy a few pics onto a memory card (should be able to use JRiver to sync my card every so often?).

Cheers,

M.

I haven't used one. Let me know what you find, please...

For the most power you'd be better off with a mini computer and LCD.  In fact, that would be neat if there was a very compact, inexpensive, PC that could run MC and then you could setup about anything.

Although I do remember seeing a wifi photo frame.  It was around $300 and was quite small.  However, I think it used Flickr but can't remember exactly.  It has been a while.

Yes, I am waiting for the day that we can buy large photoframes, hang them on the wall and control them through MC. The real virtual museum.

For a while I was going to think about building little ~8" LCD touch screens into the walls in our new house and then running theater view on them.  The biggest problem is that small touchscreen LCDs are amazingly expensive, at $400 or more each!  Not sure why they are so expensive.  But at that point, everything would be controled by a touchscreen and it would be very cool.  All audio, images, and video right in the WALL!
