I have problems with tagging and renaming (moving) files from properties after which a tagging error pop-up appears and asks to make sure that the files are not read only, not in use by another program etc. (which they are not). The strange thing is that this only works from time to time, i.e. at times I repeat this excercise several times with several files and the tagging error keeps on popping up and then sometimes I try the same files again minutes later and it works. I never had this problem with previous versions of MC, however I am wondering if this could be a network related issue as I have MC12 installed on 2 different PCs but the problem consists on either of the PCs with the library files being stored on only one of the two PCs. And of course I have made sure that all my directories and file name rules are all setup correct. Any ideas?

Have the same situation here with 12.0.318
Have to go through it a couple of times until all files are changed. I have all my music on a network drive and assume that MC is getting a timeout on some of the files and doesn't bother to try again...

Playback etc. work without a hitch...

I also have the files on a network drive, by the way, so the ssue may be related.

Sounds like Windows is thumbnailing AVIs or music with embedded coverart to me
If so, nothing much you can do there.

Tagging and renaming seems not to be "synchronized". You have to take care that when you tag files, you start to rename files only after tagging is complete. Otherwise MC runs into errors that files cannot be found.
