Converting APE to FLAC - inside cover art getting lost
« on: November 17, 2007, 03:08:22 pm »

I'n going to be moving all of my APE files to FLAC, so I can use a SONOS box (primarily for WAF).  I have cover art "inside file".

I tried using the convert function, and the resultant FLAC file shows art "inside file", but looks like it is missing the art - I see the generic MJ logo (thumbnail is still OK).  Am I doing something wrong?

Version 12.0374 (although the same thing was happening on my prev version).

Thanks!

I've been playing with this, and it APPEARS that the "cover art / copy to clipboard" function stops working, on APE files only, once I have done a file conversion.

Once I restart MC, the copy to clipboard / paste from clipboard cover art functions appear to work fine.  I do a APE to FLAC file conversion, and - as in my first post - the FLAC file tag says cover art is "inside file" - but it is not.  Following the conversion, I can use the  "cover art / copy to clipboard" function on any non-APE files, but on any APE files, I get nothing going to the clipboard.

MC 12.0374, FLAC Encoder 2.2.4, APE Plug in 2.0.53, FLAC Plug in 2.4.2

the FLAC file tag says cover art is "inside file" - but it is not.
I saw the same thing (image tag shows "inside file), until I rebuilt the thumbnails. Now they show.

In case you're monitoring this thread, but didn't see the other one... They found and fixed a FLAC issue, so make sure to be running the current build: http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=43271.0
