lame_enc.mjp for ver7.2
« on: August 12, 2002, 10:16:37 am »

I still use ver 7.2 and had to reinstall recently.  When I go to configure the encoder, it asks if I want to download and install the LAME encoder package. I say yes then a browser window comes up with the following url:

http://www.musicex.com/mediajukebox/mj_data/plugins/enc_lame.mjp

and a File Not Found error.

Is there any way this file can be replaced so I can get my encoder working again?  Or, perhaps someone can mail the lame_enc.mjp file for 7.2 to nruskin@verizon.net.  Please help -- going to v8 is not an option for me.  Thanks!!

I can't find Lame encoder for version 7 but I found Gogo mp3 encoder. If you are interested, you can download it from the following URL:
http://www.musicex.com/mediajukebox/mj_data/plugins/v7/enc_gogomp3.mjp

Thanks Nikolai.  I was very happy with the LAME encoder and would love to install the same one.  In fact, I have the dll -- is there some way to get MJ to recognize it without the mjp file??

Interesting thing:  I downloaded and installed the mp3 encoder for v8 into v7.2 without a problem.  It shows up as MP3 Encoder alongside the non-functional LAME Encoder choise in the encoder config drop down...  Hmmm... seems to work fine.  Any reason to be concerned about this?

Thanks again!

If it works, use it.  New version has newer LAME encoder.

Just double-click on enc_lame.dll file and register it.
