BPM - Field
« on: August 11, 2002, 08:36:56 pm »

Hi,

I use MixMeister to mix some of my songs. This program adds "BPM"-information (I think to the tags, but I'm not sure here). Wouldn't it be nice if MJ shows it or even calculates it on his own? Then let me filter by it (e.g. "130 - 140 BPM") and I'm even more happy ;-)

To go into detail: The BPM is quite important for people like me who listen much to techno or house or something. Because the BPM is a good indicator which song to play for the mood I'm in (or the guests are in). For me between 130 and 140 it is "make me feel good". Below is "slow things down" and much higher is "that's why you don't like rave".

Thanks for listening.

I use Mixmeister, too. It would be nice to have the BPM displayed in Media Jukebox.

Matt,

Honestly, I didn't put them up to it!

But since they started this on their own, I'd like to join in; please add support for the TBPM frame in ID3v2.3 for mp3 files.  And how about freeform, user selects it, custom fields for the tags on ogg files?  Similar to the way Winamp does it?
