Minimize button from Display View
« on: November 23, 2007, 11:56:07 am »

I've brought this up a few times, but don't believe I've ever got an official response.
I'm curious that no one else gets annoyed by this,
why isn't there a minimize button in display view?

I often open pics from explorer in MC, and then have to restore, then minimize to get back to explorer.

Because it is a full-screen UI and they don't typically have minimize buttons.

One thing that was brought up in another thread that I've been thinking about though...

EDIT: I was going to post this here, but I decided it should really get it's own thread rather than hijacking this one.  Read this thread: http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=43594.0

Hmm most full screen apps don't have a title bar so they can't have a minimize button,
however display view does have a title bar, so there's no reason why not to have a minimize button.

Interweb Explorer has a fullscreen mode, yet that still gives you a minimize button as well in
the same hidden menu bar fashion.

Windows Media Center also has a minimize button....

Dear Santa,
For Christmas I'd like a minimize button to go with Display View.
Here's another reason for having one:

You get an email (Using Outlook)
It has an image attachment.
You double click the image attachment.
Media Center superbly opens incredibly quickly and shows the image fullscreen.
This seems fair enough.
You do some image viewing...
then you want to minimize Media Center.
No minimize button.
So you hit the close button, and Media Center doesn't close
it reappears in standard form.
Alternatively you could have hit the restore button...
which restores Media Center...
or hit the close display button, which does the same as the close button?
