Overburning
« on: August 11, 2002, 05:39:58 am »

Hey Everyone,

I saw here that TJZJ seemed to be able to overburning CDs (80 minutes into 82 minutes, for example).  Except it sounds like the overburned region didn't playback.  Anyway, that's all I could find.

When I tried to overburn a CD yesterday by one precious second (80 mins 1 second onto an 80 minutes CD), I got an error message at the end and a coaster (none of the tracks played).

So my questions are:
1) Can you overburn with MJ8?  (I know my hardware's OK, I've overburned 82 minutes onto 80 minute disc with Nero, and ALL tracks played great in multiple CD players)

2) If so, how?  I couldn't select anything higher than 80 minutes, and like I said - just one second over and it failed.

Thanks,
Fred

To each his own!  As I said, my hardware has been proven to work, and I was delighted to fit both CDs (82 minutes) of my "Quadrophenia" MFSL album onto a single 80 minute CDR with no errors.  So I know my hardware supports successful overburning; I just want to find out if MJ does!

Thanks,
Fred
