Possible feature request -- cancel files being moved
« on: December 22, 2007, 02:15:11 pm »

I say possible, because it may already be there, I just couldn't find it.  I downloaded and installed the new MC version and was using one of the library features to rename and move files. Like an idiot, I did not take note of the drive the files were going to be moved to, and I inadvertantly moved them to the C drive and not the drive I keep my audio files in.  Problem was, I had selected all 6000+ files....so, when the process started, I knew something was wrong, but could not stop the process.  Is there a way to cancel an action like that in mid stream?

BTW, the more I learn about this program, the move I love it.

This will do the trick:
Edit > Undo (Ctrl+Z)

True, but once you have converted 6000+ files, that is a long time to "undo". I was hoping for a "cancel" button that would allow you to interrupt the process shortly after it started and then allowing you to "undo" the files that were changed.

It will.

Make a change.

It works in the background moving and tagging.

Hit "Undo" at any time.

It starts working to undo any changes it made.

You don't need to wait for the job to finish before doing an undo.

Awesome. If I had only known at the time.  What a great program, the more I learn to use it, the more I like it.  Thanks.
