reconnecting moved files
« on: December 02, 2007, 07:18:56 am »

Hi all,

I know several topics have been posted on this, but I found none with a satisfactory answer, so...

If you move several files outside of media center (or using another installation of media center), how to update your library so that the files get re-connected? The files are on a network drive...

I thought I could get by using 'find & replace' and changing the path as I do when I move parts of my library but...If the moved files are already imported, it won't work. Even after removing the duplicates from the library, if I change the path MC seems to think the files are already there and appends a (1) to the filename. This, even if it would work, would be too difficult and error-prone anyway.

What I would like is an option: "look for missing file" or something you could then use on a disconnected file.

Any ideas / alternatives?
