Hello,
In most of cases, when you shoot an lot of pictures, you store them on you PC in a classified mode, to be able to retrieve them :
For example, you create under a /Pictures/ directory, a new directory with :
- either a thematic name (ex : Flowers, My Baby, My cat),
- or a chronologic name (ex : Christmas 2007)
- or, as often chosen in professional fashion & press world, a coded name "Year_Month_Keyword" which allows an easy chronologic order classification
ex: "2007_04_Toronto" for all the pictures shot in Toronto in April 2007
All my 1To pictures are classified in the 3d mode
With J River MC, I have tried, without success, in normal view (and in some theatre view) to obtain what I want :
Thumbnail mode
+
One album for each shooting series (ex :Album "2007_04_Toronto")
+
Each album gathers all the pictures which exist in the physical "2007_04_Toronto" directory
+
Chronologic inverse order (Newest Album in first)
And, by clicking on an Album thumbnail, (ex :Album "2007_04_Toronto"), all the images of this specific album, appear, in Thumbnail mode
Note : In Professional Fashion and Press world, this is most of cases, the default view mode, on their MAC's ;-)
My Questions :With the actual version of J River MC, can I obtain exactly this, in Normal and in Theatre view ?
=> Must I use the "ALBUM" concept ?
note : In Music, it's easy to classify by "Album" because, the "Album" name is in the MP3 Tag, but .. in Images , it's not !
So, for Images, must I choose another system than Album ?
=> Can the "FILMENAME" classification, be the solution ?
To try to have the Thumbnails classified as I would like, I have tried without success, many a many combinations, in Details mode :
Classify columns following "Filename", "Filename (name)", "Filename (Path)",
=> Can the "GROUP" classification, be the solution ?
Without success, I tried Group classification (Album, Album (By date) Year.. etc..) (I had some hope, there..)
Last : Here is the simulation of what I would want to have :
=> Can-it be possible ??
Thanks for any Help !! :-)
Best regards,
