With your wireless phone ,you call a number,you let the music play throught the phone-noises and voices not a problem as long as music is the mean sound-for half a minute .....and you get the artist and song name on your phone screen.

Hey, that's interesting. Where will all this advanced technology lead to.

I remember many years ago when being dissatisfied with the selection of some of the songs on any given artist's LP thinking how great it would be to be able to go to a machine and select say 12 or 15 songs of your choice by different artists, put your money in, and have it create that LP.

I haven't seen this done but believe it is now available from some record stores but on a CD instead of the old LP.

There was a site called MusicMaker(?) that was doing that for a while. However, they were charging something crazy like $1.99 per track, and because of the tangle of artistic rights there were loads of arbitrary limitations on how many files you could ask for from a given artist, and which artists or labels could/could not be mixed. Predictably, it tanked.

Not a bad idea at the time, but superseded by the EMusic model.

I live in the Uk and have never heard of this.

What number do you call - and how do you know it works.

I do not know.I saw it on BBC international in they internet magazine.

But it was in England,not in the USA
