DJ mixes / radio shows
« on: January 21, 2008, 05:57:19 am »

Does anyone have a "best practice" for managing DJ sets or radio shows?  I've got a bunch of LONG files (2 hours each), with separate set lists, and am wondering if there's any easy way to integrate the set list into MC somehow - perhaps as a tag or lyrics?

The other idea I had was to create a cue sheet (should be easy enough to automate from my text files) which would have the whole file as the first track, but then list out the songs in the set list as subsequent 0 length tracks, allowing me to at least see them in MC even if I can't play them directly.  This might cause some issues with syncing to my ipod, but I can probably create a smartlist to handle that easily enough.

Is there any way to adjust the start-time and/or song duration for a cue sheet directly within Media player?  When I find songs that I like, I'd love for there to be an easy way for me to set up a cue point so that I can come back to them.

Thanks!

There is no way to do this from MC. I was hoping at least for a way to record track transitions could be implemented via bookmarks but thats been a no-go too.

I don't know of any tool that allows to do this automatically either, leaving just the manual option with a text editor, for each file  ::)
