I recently purchased and installed MJ8 on Win2000.   Now MJ8 runs for about 2 minutes before it crashes and pops up a web page that says:

Program File Problem
Media Jukebox has detected a problem with the Media Jukebox program file you are using. The file may be corrupt, or it may have been modified. Please reinstall as the user who will be running MJ.

If the problem persists, please post a message to Interact.

The link to the web site:

I tried reinstalling it as the user I run MJ8 with, and it seemed to fix itself, but after using it only twice, the problem is back?

Any ideas?

Was the license installed?

The program thinks it has been modified.  Other possibilities are a corrupt file or disk or memory error.

I wonder if a complete uninstall, make sure the j river dir is removed, and download the program directly from j rivers website. and a reinstall may help.

Yes, the license is installed.
I will try the complete uninstall idea this weekend.
I have been having some other flaky computer issues, so I guess it could be memory/corruption issues.  But it seemed weird that it consistently happened every 2 minutes.

I have since downgraded to the version before 8.0.336 (I think it is 8.0.330) and I am not having the same problem.  I did get the web page pop up at one point, but the MJ did not crash ?#?$

Sounds a lot like faulty memory to me.  Try turning down your FSB in the bios and see if your computer is less flaky...
